Our founder and executive coach, Dr. Wanita Mercer, works one-on-one with leaders or with their teams to create personalized action plans that are tailored to their unique needs and goals.   • Develop a campaign for growing your platform by at least 100 followers in three months.

  • Design, schedule, and post content on your assigned platform.

  • Create a weekly social media strategy and calendar, and meet all deadlines.

  • Use Hootsuite, Canva, and Adobe Express or similar social media management scheduling tool to schedule regular posts in alignment with organizational needs and activities.

  • Monitor reach, increase engagement, and respond to comments on social media in a timely and professional manner.

  • Strengthen teamwork, collaboration, alignment, morale, transparency, credibility, and trust throughout the company.

  • Fulfill necessary tasks, projects, or roles as assigned.

video editor

  • Research the type of video content that will increase engagement on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, and YouTube. 

  • Edit Lead My Heart lecture and series videos to create engaging and informative stories, shorts, reels, and tiktoks to share with the social media ambassadors.

  • Create a minimum of three original video commercials (15 seconds, 30 seconds, and 1 minute) highlighting Lead My Heart’s services.

  • Create a weekly social media strategy and calendar, and meet all deadlines.

  • Use Facebook clip tool, Canva and Adobe Express or similar video edit tools to create posts in alignment with organizational needs and activities.

  • Monitor reach and engagement of videos.

  • Strengthen teamwork, collaboration, alignment, morale, transparency, credibility, and trust throughout the company.

  • Fulfill necessary tasks, projects, or roles as assigned.

graphic designer

  • Create graphics for announcing upcoming events, highlighting services and skills, and summarizing content using Canva and Adobe Express or similar graphic design tools to create engaging and professional graphics in alignment with organizational needs and activities.

  • Design covers and layouts for e-books and work with the copywriter intern to create digital workbooks.

  • Create a weekly graphic design strategy and calendar in collaboration with the social media ambassadors, and meet all deadlines.

  • Strengthen teamwork, collaboration, alignment, morale, transparency, credibility, and trust throughout the company.

  • Fulfill necessary tasks, projects, or roles as assigned.

communications ambassador

  • Exercise creative writing and communications skills by creating inspiring narratives about the mission and services of Lead My Heart.

  • Develop persuasive language and write short yet engaging copy for social media posts.

  • Contact potential clients via phone, E-mail, or in-person (if necessary) to inquire about their needs and share information about the services that Lead My Heart provides.

  • Assist Dr. Mercer with writing and answering E-mails and other communications to/from Lead My Heart. 

  • Assist Dr. Mercer with researching information and writing summative reports.

  • Strengthen teamwork, collaboration, alignment, morale, transparency, credibility, and trust throughout the company.

  • Fulfill necessary tasks, projects, or roles as assigned.

copywriter

  • Write copy for digital worksheets that will accompany current and upcoming lectures/series; work closely with the graphic designer intern to create digital workbooks.

  • Provide supportive research and copywriting for e-books and/or workbooks.

  • Strengthen teamwork, collaboration, alignment, morale, transparency, credibility, and trust throughout the company.

Academic* Internships:

All applicants must currently be enrolled in a university internship course and classified as a junior or senior in college.

NOTE: Priority is given to students enrolled in internship courses for the current semester. Academic internships are unpaid internships.

All applicants must currently be enrolled in a university and classified as a junior or senior in college.

  • Proven written communication skills, and a passion for writing both short and long copy

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • An interest in marketing, communications, social media or brand/reputation management

  • Familiarity with Christian and faith-based values and language

  • Familiarity with key social media tools (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok), Zoom, Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Drive (calendar, sheets, docs)

  • Familiarity with additional programs a plus but not necessary (i.e. Visme, Prezi Video, Restream, Wix websites, SEO, analytics)

  • An ability to learn and problem-solve

  • Creative and forward-thinking

  • An ability to affirm and consistently demonstrate a commitment to our brand message, mission, and values

  • Organized, attentive to detail, and follows directions

  • A self-starter who is able to prioritize work and adapt quickly in a fast-paced startup environment

  • Exciting Startup: Intern will be a part of an exciting new company that is revolutionizing coaching and consulting for professionals. 

  • Mentorship: Intern will be personally trained and mentored by the founder and CEO of the company, Dr. Wanita Mercer.

  • Diverse Experiences and Projects: Intern will hone their social media, graphic design, digital communication, website management, writing, event management, and marketing skills.

  • Earn Digital Badges: Intern will learn specific skills and earn digital badges that will look great on a resume in any field and do not expire.

  • Entrepreneurial Experience: Interns will learn some of the day-to-day intricacies of operating a business.

  • Develop Creative Writing Skills: Intern will practice and develop writing skills in a clear, succinct, compelling way.

  • Professional Development: Intern will attend monthly professional development opportunities.

  • Flexible Work Hours: Intern will have flexible work hours to accommodate demanding academic schedules and requires only one mandatory Zoom team meeting each week.

  • Remote or Hybrid Positions: Intern may choose either remote (for students attending school more than 20 miles from 78218) or hybrid (attending meetings online and in-person) work..

  • Course Credit*: Intern will receive college credit through internship course towards degree plan requirements.

  • Workplace Spirituality: Intern will work in an organization that will nurture and lead their spirit.

  • Public Recognition: Intern will be officially announced as an intern/team member of Lead My Heart on all social media accounts.

  • Official Letter: Intern will receive either a letter of reference or recommendation (depending on performance) at the completion of the internship.

  • Progress Reports*/**: Intern will receive official progress reports for internship class advisors and/or regular performance reviews to inform you of your progress.

Hours &
Commitment

  • Internship contract will be for 1 semester (spring, summer, or fall)

  • Commit to working 8-10 hours per week

  • Submit weekly reports of project progress each Friday.

  • Attend mandatory weekly staff meetings via Zoom.

  • Must sign a non-disclosure and non-compete agreement upon hire.
